Aging by the Decades

30's: What you're battling

Stress
Competing demands on you in your 30's take their toll here. Stress triggers the secretion of sebum under your skin, which promotes bacterial growth that turns into pimples. You may also start to see fine lines near your eyes where skin creases more readily. Try an eye cream to smooth and even out the skin.

40's: What you're battling

Hormonal Shifts
Tiny lines appear around the eyes and the forehead, and crow's-feet start to set in. Broken capillaries or brown spots may show up on the cheeks, and pores may look larger. Try moisturizers with collagen as they tighten skin by stimulating collagen production.

50's: What you're battling

Estrogen Loss
In the 50's women have about one-tenth of the estrogen they have had as an adult up to that point. Since estrogen stimulates both collagen and oil production, that dramatic loss shows up as very dry skin. Cracks begin to appear, along with age spots, and fat loss in your face contributes to skin sagging. Try moisturizers with collagen as they tighten skin by stimulating collagen production as well as moisturizers with Alpha Hydroxy Acids (AHA). Beneficial to all age groups and skin types.

Alpha Hydroxy Acids (AHA)

As we get older the dead skin cell layer adds up on our skin, which makes our lines and wrinkles look deeper. Alpha hydroxy acids are the most effective in removing the dead skin cell layer renewing the skin.

New Beauty Tip:

Your skin has a chance to repair itself overnight. Get your 7-8 hours of sleep a night. If you sleep with your face in your pillow, it will look creased faster. Best to sleep on your back.

Extreme Workouts:

Importance of Moisturizer

Premature skin aging is usually an issue for extreme athletes. A great moisturizer can be a wonderful asset to counteract the continual pull of gravity.

If your working out is outdoors don't forget to apply the sunscreen too.
